The diagnostic accuracy of CT-guided biopsy in the diagnosis of lung cancer

Background: Lung cancer is the second most common cancer worldwide, with higher rates of incidence among men and seniors. CT scan-guided biopsy has been known to be a good and less invasive test for diagnosing lung cancer. The present study was carried out to examine the diagnostic accuracy of CT scan-guided biopsy in diagnosing lung cancer. Patients and Methods: One hundred patients suspected of lung cancer were studied in a prospective observational study conducted in Rizgary Teaching Hospital and outpatient respiratory private clinic-Hawler, Kurdistan/Iraq. A convenient sampling method was employed to select the patients. Required data were collected from the patient’s medical profiles and CT scan images.
