Leczenie chirurgiczne chorych na pierwotnego inwazyjnego raka pochwy

The paper refers to the role of surgery in the treatment of primary vaginal carcinoma. The literature, regarding this problem, was analyzed. Indications for primary surgery in vaginal cancer and radicality of this treatment, according to FIGO stages, were described. The potential less radical approach in patients with superficial cancer involvement was underline, as well, as extensive surgery and pelvic exenteration procedures in advanced patients. Results of surgical treatment and potential benefits of combining surgery with radio- and chemotherapy were discussed.
