The proposal to introduce conservative treatment results from the profile of PC progression that at an early stage it is a disease that developer at a slow pace, usually over many years and without clinical symptoms. The study draws on the results of the research Scandinavian Prostatic Cancer Group Study Number 4) as well as the study PIVOT (Prostate Cancer Intervention Versus Observation Trial), in which conservative treatment was subjected to the comparative analysis as against radical prostatectomy. What is still being sought are the biomarkers facilitating the isolation of the group of patients that are to undergo watchful waiting, thereby avoiding excessive treatment, the so-called.
