Abstract

Author(s): Janusz Bartnicki

The author presents his own 13-year-long surgical experience in Germany in the area of laparoscopic lymphadenectomy of pelvis minor in stage I cancer of the uterine body. He includes valuable practical advice for his colleagues - laparoscopic operators. The author recommends - according to the guidelines of the country where he works - that in stage I cancer of the uterine body laparoscopic lymphadenectomy and hysterectomy should be performed. Even though patients as well as gynaecologists generally recognize the superiority of laparoscopy over laparotomy, laparoscopic surgery in cancer of the uterine body is performed only in a few German hospitals.
