On the basis of the literature it has been presented prognostic factors for overall survivals of patients with brain metastases of malignant melanoma. Most often factors mentioned by authors are: performance status, extracerebral metastases, number of brain metastases, age and primary tumor control. In addition, in the years 2010-2013, the analysis of large groups of patients, revealed that pretreatment serum lactase dehydrogenase (LDH) level also remained as significant prognostic factor.
