Obrzęk limfatyczny – przegląd literatury

Review of literature relating to the lymphoedema and diagnostic as well as therapeutic possibilities is the subject of this paper. Lymphoedema being agglomeration of high-protein substances in stromal spaces is the chronic disease and handicaps physical and mental sphere of the patients. Disturbances of lymph flow in lymphatic vessel are being the main reason of the formation of lymphoedema. Inappropriately treatment of lympoedema leads to its fixation, destruction of lymphatic vessel, intensification disease symptoms, skin changes (hyperkeratosis and papillomatosis) and break continuity of the skin. In the paper the authors presented the classification of the lymphoedema as well as characterization of reasons of its formation. There were discussed the most frequent preservative, surgical and pharmacological methods of the treatment of primary and secondary lymphoedema.
